In 2017, just outside of Dallas, Texas, a vision took shape in a spare bedroom. Metro Tint Texas was founded with a mission: to provide the highest quality window film installation services for homes and businesses throughout the Dallas – Fort Worth Metroplex and North Texas. What started as a small operation, driven by dedication and expertise, quickly expanded into a trusted name in North Texas for high-quality window film solutions.

Our founder, Steven Chambers, had been in the window film industry for more than 20 years—spanning roles at leading manufacturers like 3M Window Films and Johnson Window Films, running a regional window films distribution center, and even leading a window film installation company in the United Kingdom. He had cultivated a deep understanding of the industry. But beyond film, we discovered our true passion: security.

As we listened to our customers, one truth became undeniable: security concerns were evolving. Window film remained in our DNA, but we knew we could offer more. We expanded into a full-spectrum security solutions provider, offering security films, Riot Glass access denial panels, security screens for doors and windows, security shutters, and bullet-resistant glass. Our goal was no longer just to tint windows…we wanted to go beyond that…it was to fortify homes, businesses, and government facilities against real and everyday threats.

Clients across Texas and neighboring states trusted us to safeguard their properties—whether it was a single-family home, a small storefront, or a sprawling commercial complex. As our reputation grew, so did our reach. We began taking on projects nationwide and even internationally, evolving beyond a regional brand into a global security provider.

By 2025, it became clear that the company’s name, Metro Tint Texas, no longer fully reflected what the company had grown into. “Tint” suggested a narrow focus on window film, while Texas implied a limited geography. Over the preceding eight years we had grown from a small window tinting company into a leading provider of comprehensive security solutions. We wanted a new name that embodied our new capabilities and reach while at the same time acknowledging our proud Texas roots.

Thus, Starmor was born.

The name Starmor is a fusion of “Star,” symbolizing our Texas heritage, and “Armor,” representing the strength and security we bring to every project, Starmor reflects our unwavering mission: to shield homes and businesses from threats, delivering unmatched safety in an unpredictable world.
