Located only 15 miles from downtown Dallas, Farmers Branch is a quiet suburban community often referred to as one of the best places to live in Texas. The city residents can enjoy being a part of a peaceful and tight-knit community typical of small towns. At the same time, all the amenities of big-city life are less than a half-hour away.

The origins of the city date back to the first half of the 19th century, A group of settlers, led by William Cochran, first established the community in 1843. They named it Mustang Branch due to the bounty of Mustang Grapes growing around the original settlement. Not long after, the name was changed to Farmers Branch echoing the fertile soil and a bounty of farmland in the area. Over the years, the city rapidly developed, attracting new residents and seeing the growth of small businesses and industries.

Today, Farmers Branch has a population of more than 30,000 and spreads over 12.1 square miles. It’s best known for its vast green areas which is why it’s often referred to as a “City in a Park”. Although it doesn’t cover a large area, Farmers Branch has 28 parks. Rose Gardens, Maloon, and Rawhide Park are the most attractive and present perfect places to spend a day with family. The city also features several historical landmarks and has a rich and vibrant cultural life. The center of Farmers Branch is mostly residential. On the other hand, most of the businesses are spread around the city’s borders. The city has gone a long way from being a farmers’ community. Nowadays, it features companies from varied industries such as cosmetics, food products, pharmaceuticals, retail, and construction, to name a few. Some of the world’s biggest companies, like JP Morgan Chase and Coca-Cola, have their branches operating here.
